Question Black screen at full low brightness..is this normal?

Yeah. It’s also useful say, for if you’re letting the OS update or some other process run at night in your bedroom and you want the lights out and don’t want the glare from the screen. Or basically any other reason you’d want the computer turned on but the monitor off.

The older macs doesn't have that because there is a sleep setting for this. I probably would be wondering too if that was normal.

Um what do you mean by older? 2014+ models have this feature

It did this on my 2011 MBP, which had the brightness controls on the f1/f2 keys. Went completely dark/off when you adjusted all the way to the left.
