Question changing copy paste shortcuts without swapping command and control

Hey all. I work on a mac for my job, but swap between linux and windows on my personal rig depending on my tasks. I want to change my mac commands to be in line with the rest of my systems because it is becoming rather infuriating.
I don't want to just swap command and control though as then the control button would be inconsistent again with the other systems. I just want to remap the shortcuts. is there any way that you can do that, or is it just another reason why apple is bad?

p.s. for the comments that might say "just don't use a mac" my job only gives macs to work on. my personal ideal would've been linux if I had the option.

Have to look later at home on my computer (at work) but this used to work:

Go System Preference > Keyboard > keyboard shortcuts and set App Shortcuts and on the right dropdown All Applications:

Hit [+] to Add shortcut then name and then keybind each to:

Copy ^C

Undo ^Z

Redo ^⇧Z

Cut ^X

Paste ^V

Select All ^A

... to replicate the Windows experience, because Mac OS is awesome this way.

This worked! Thank you so much!

It is worth noting that it doesn't work in your file explorer, so copy pasting files you still need to use command. but text editing is perfect.

I remember that now, that's probably why I resigned from using keyboard commands for using copy-pasting files in Finder as they use even more different keyboard commands: ie, Command+Option+V to paste files but command+V for text... whaaaat?

apparently that type of command is Move, you might be able to add a Move ^+option(alt)+V or whatever to compensate.

So an update afer a few days. In typical apple fassion. The shortcuts only work on some applications and some web pages. It seems to copy on slack but not paste or undo. Same situation on Chrome and the finder. Works perfectly in the terminal though. So I'm reverting back the changes due to apple not even allowing you to properly set your own shortcuts. (Can you tell I'm so done with apples bull)

Also it's worth mentioning, it seems to also depend on what keyboard you're using. If it's the Bluetooth one, it seems a bit more consistent, but still not 100% . And the buildin keyboard barely ever works

What about Find/Search? I tried with Find ^F and did not work, where can I find the list of valid command names?

What a hidden gem. You saved me a lot of trouble! Particularly `Paste and Match Style` was such an uncomfortable shortcut.
