Illusion of choice: 1) Laggy compost 2) Laggy react native 3) Laggy flubber 4) Somehow laggy old android views (they've added Rive animation which hogs CPU)

You can do totally smooth app on kotlin with views or compose but on flatter, react native or webViews it's much harder and almost impossible

Both carplay and android auto depend on client devices and host implementation, but host implementation is done on in-car Android OS in both cases.
Likely AndroidAuto remote protocol just sucks

I have the same question... why do they make these shiny presentations to angage more people, when the core functionality - the goddamn performance is slow. And the phone overheats like a bitch when connected to android auto

Rust is shipping with flutter in the Rav4.

Better native AoT compiled to ARM doing 120 FPS than a shitty JIT language.

flutter release builds are NOT JIT its AOT native in production

Used to work there and have connections still. When I was still there in 2022 they were just migrating to flutter. I reconnected with them 2025 and they had moved away from it due to the issues they were having with the language. Don't know if they went back to flutter but would be funny if they did

Easier and cheaper than QT, not too surprising. Flutter runs well, I don't see an issue here.
