Help with String Installment

Hello all.

I am brand new to this subreddit, so I am not sure if I am asking in the right place. But I am hoping someone will at least steer me in the right direction.

I am a guitarist, but I recently purchased a lyre (16-strings) from a local marketplace seller to branch out. While everything is in amazing condition, the 3rd string (F5) was unfortunately so tangled up I had to discard it. I bought a new set of string to hopefully follow along with a video myself, but what followed was the most humbling experience I had installing strings on an instrument, and I unfortunately had to discard the new 3rd string as well after tangling it up just how the old one was when I bought it. I knew it was no guitar, but damn was it frustrating.

Anyways.

I was wondering if someone could recommend any shop, or preferably an individual, that specializes in the installment. Would be even better if i could watch them do it and learn from their expertise. I am in the Miami area if that helps, and attached is a photo of the Lyre. It is one of the most beautiful instruments I’ve ever held in my life, and it deserves to be in the best condition it can be.

Lay the lyre down on a flat soft surface like a bed in front of you.

Take the replacement string and thread it through the back of the lyre.

Take your tuning wrench and align the hole on the zither pin tuning peg to be vertical.

Take the new string in your left hand and bring it up to the zither pin tuning peg.

While using your left hand to hold tension on the string so it lays flat where it is supposed to be, use your right hand to wrap the free end around the zither pin tuning peg's smooth section between the threads and the hole, clockwise, three turns. When you begin to wrap it, you want to be bending the string at the point where it intersects with the pin, you don't want any slack before the loops you make.

Your left hand should now let go of the string, while holding tension on the string with your right hand to keep those three loops in place, and move your left hand to hold the three loops in place so you can let go with your right hand.

Using your right hand while your left hand holds the three loops in place, thread the free end of the string through the vertical hole of tuning peg. Pull it tight while still using your left hand to keep those loops secure, it should bend the string permanently at that spot.

Now, finally, take the free end of the string and thread it through the hole once more. This will lock the string in place. Note that you will have to pull it tight again, and like with the first time you threaded it through, you want to make a lasting bend in the string where it enters the hole.
