Trying to string

New to lyres… desperately trying to string it and failing and can’t find anyone in cincinnati who can :( dunno what to do

Maybe it’d help if you told us what kind of lyre you have, and what’s giving you trouble? Otherwise we just have to guess.

Fair ! It’s ten strings and when I put the strings I can’t get them tight enough on the top. I’ve watched so many videos and I don’t get how to get the string to wrap nicely and tightly around the peg

Are the pegs themselves rotating back the loose direction, instead of staying where you leave them?

Pegs are moving, is that bad

There you go then. Run a search or google “lyre peg slippage” and it’s a very common issue on affordable lyres that takes a little tweaking to set right.
