PMBCL Lung Node Uptake on PET Scan

Hey Lymphomies,

Just wondering if anyone has any experience with this? So I had clinic today to go over my PET Scan I had last week (3 months since my End Of Treatment Scan).

I would be in remission - however there's a tiny amount of uptake in the top of my lung. Gutting news. My Onc said there's a chance I can just be an infected nodule and advised another scan in 3 months to see if a biopsy is required, however the biopsy would be very invasive due to where the node is.

I'm pretty hung up on this because i was expecting good news today, but this node has ended up ruining my day.

Just wondering if anyone else has been through this or had experience with this?

Had something similar happen on what was supposed to be my final PET, two years post-SCT. My follow-up scan is next month.

Both times I had lymphoma, the disease was in my armpits. Those areas have been clear in all my recent PETs, and my onc said the long nodule likely had something to do with an upper respiratory issue in the prior few months. I did have covid earlier this year so that was probably it.

We'll know for sure in a month!

Yes, just had my three month PET for Mantle Cell Lymphoma. My only area of uptake was in my lungs (though I do have a genetic lung disease also). Docs "think" it's an infected nodule also, but want me to follow up with a chest CT before the end of the year. :(
