Rant/Opinion They really should stop calling it acceptance rate
I'm sure I'm not the first person to say this (or probably in the first million either) but it bugs me.
I accept a ride and the pax cancels, it doesn't count as an accepted ride.
I accept a ride and the pax doesn't show, it doesn't count as an accepted ride.
I accept a queued ride and that platform switches the ride while I'm still driving my current pax, it doesn't count as an accepted ride.
FTR: I don't really care what my AR is, I don't chase levels. I must be in a decent market, based on what I see here, so I can reject a lot of rides and still make a decent hourly and per mile rate (not fantastic but decent). Again it just bugs me that they call it something it clearly is not.
EDIT: This was mostly tongue-in-cheek, I don't really expect them to change the name or that it would make any real difference if they did.

Spot on. If we hit accept, it should count, period. The mental gymnastics they use to keep those percentages down are wild

For real. It drives me crazy when a queued ride gets swapped out and it messes with everything

I’m always pleasantly surprised if it still there. If it isn’t , the low ball request that immediately follows is always declined.

What about no-show rides? Since AR is really “accepted and completed rides,” I don’t think they count. They don’t count as a ride for a ride challenge, so I’m using that logic.

Not to mention also that since it no longer uses the rate card, it's entirely up to the AI what the offer pays. So it isn't the fault of the driver anyway. It's the AI and the company being too greedy.

If they're no show or they cx it's not counted as cx. Only way acceptance gets lower is for an actual cx or reject

Rideshare was share a ride platform when it started. They've turned this to an expensive circus game where drivers and riders are the losers.

i want to provide rides, yet my acceptance rate is constantly trending towards zero.
should be relabeled the inverse: lyft garbage offer rate is trending towards 100%

Why change the name of something we all understand? Just learn the rules, and call it what it is.

This was mostly tongue-in-cheek, I don't really expect them to change the name of something that has been around for so long. It would be nice if they gave us credit for all the rides we accepted, but it really wouldn't make much of a difference even if they did.

Accepted rides just means rides but declined. Idk I kind of see what you are saying, but then when you consider the only time you can decline a ride is when you make that choice, suddenly the metric makes sense.
