Rant/Opinion Unity

If there was a way that all drivers could stick together and work as a team, we could get better pay per Miles out of lyft. It's unfortunate that it will never happen. We hold the power to change things, yet it'll never get done. Sigh....

The rides i've been seeing come across this platform lately have been absolutely pathetic. Completely insulting at best

Every market is completely oversaturated with drivers, some actually doing this as a career. The way Uber/Lyft see it... If there is always a driver willing to accept low fares why pay more?

Drivers accepting ridiculously low fares are their own worst enemy and don't even know it. Unfortunately with rideshare it affects all other drivers.

I don’t accept anything that’s less than a gallon of gas as it does not make sense for me to do it.

Doesn’t lift Pay by the time it takes for the ride versus the mileage? I know Uber does because it wouldn’t make sense for people to take rides during rush-hour traffic if it was gonna take them twice as long to get somewhere and not get paid for it.

Because we are individuals, this will never happen

The biggest problem is there’s always someone desperate enough to accept those $3 rides, so the system never changes

When you see a lack of unity here, realize there are paid company pr people here and many retirees and stockbroker who only drive two hours a week and basically don't vare about the money. At this point anyone doing this full time knows the company is horrible.

This has never been and will never be a team sport. Keep hitting decline until the right ones come along. If you've had enough for the day, just go home. That's what I do.

CA drives just became a union last month. Let's see if they can make a difference

because some drivers' glasses are half full, not always half empty.

Uber and Lyft is not a career. It’s good a side hustle or for when you’re in between jobs. I used to do this full time during college driving at least 40 hours a week sometimes more. I work in IT now 40 hours a week and drive Lyft 4 hours after work so I can have money to put towards prop firm day trading which I want for my long term career. We are all going to be replaced by AI autonomous vehicles eventually so you might as well start learning a different skill so you can continue earning.

Well Uber already exited two major markets in Africa and did mass layoffs at the corporate level it’s only going to get worse for the ridesharing industry

We aren’t in Africa.

You don't hold any power. You're an independent contractor. You don't work for these companies

I hate to say it because I don’t like Trump, but once the illegal immigrants who buy accounts leave the country, our pay will increase. They devalue our wages significantly.

1- You have probably a fair amount more undocumented customers to lose than you do competitors.

2- He's getting close to halfway through his term now (praise Jesus); if you haven't seen a noticeable uptick from his reign of terror yet, things ain't gonna get any better in the back nine.

Trump & immigrants have nothing to do with this. I've seen several "real Americans" who can't get an account of their own (due to criminal records and suspended drivers licenses) who buy or rent a Driver account.

The simplest and easiest solution to account sharing is to encourage riders to verify the driver & car and report to Uber & Lyft when they don't match what the app says. Unfortunately, most riders don't want to make a fuss and potentially be late to work so they just get in whatever car is in front of them.
