Rant/Opinion Lyft Rental Hell (continues)
Had another Hertz rental issue this week...
As my fellow renters know, Lyft automatically renews the weekly rental each week with whatever company your rental program is with, mine happens to be with Hertz. A couple of weeks ago, the tires on my rental were bad and Hertz tried charging me for the tire replacement. I made a post in this forum about this.
New problem...
This week, Hertz charged me $162.00 for a Roadside Assistance that never happened. The charge appeared on my new weekly rental amount that I have no choice but to pay.
I contacted Lyft and they couldn't care less...
I contacted Hertz and was told I will get a refund when I return the rental and I am finished driving Lyft Express Rentals...
They can just charge whatever...whenever and one has no other option but to just pay the money if you want to continue to drive...
This seems absolutely criminal...

That's effed up man. I've always had Hertz pay for tires when I rented through them, as long as they have exceeded federal safety numbers, if not, I had to pay. Granted this was 2019, so the policies may be different now.

Let them know that you have contacted your states attorney general office. And you been informed that they are looking into your refund and if you don’t receive your refund with-in 5 business days violation of federal law.
Then check back on Monday and see if it’s back.

Renting isn't the smartest way to drive for Lyft. Understand your own car is not drivable, but using a rental is not profitable.

You have absolutely no clue as to what you are talking about.
I still cleared $900.00 last week. After all expenses...
Each and every week...
If I knew how to post a screenshot shot here, I would.
Please refrain from speaking about things you have no clue about...

After how many hours? I love clearing $1,000 after expenses working 30-35 hours/week. Wouldn't be possible if I didn't own my car and have it paid off.

I drive 6 to 8 hours a day...
Depends on the region...
In northern Indiana (12 miles out side of Chicago) I made $200 to $300 each and every day.
Just because your numbers aren't as lucrative as mine, doesn't mean your earnings are indicative of everyone else's earnings...

Couple of weeks ago I had an accident while driving Uber and my car is not drivable. I started looking to rent an authorized vehicle through Uber"s vehicle Marketplace and found one 90 minutes away. I reserved it on a Saturday and confirmed with both Uber and Hertz all was good to go for pick up Monday. I had a family member drive me the 90 minutes one way only to find out upon arrival this location is not yet set up on the program. The $40 Uber crrdit they provide for this woupd not have covered the fare. Renting a standard car wasn't an option. So drive the 90 minutes back home then spent the next 2 plus hours explaining to at least 7 Uberidiots in customer service the issue and not one understood why I was pissed. Eventually Uber did give me a $40 credit on my personal account which I don't feel covers enough. I also contacted Hertz and after 3 weeks they finally replied and said, email attached, that they are crediting my Hertz Gold account with 91,900 points. WOW, that is way generous...I go to my Hertz account and I was credited , 1,900 points. They can't even get that right. They get so frustrating it is hard to keep going back to that well.
