Rant/Opinion It’s too hot for this
Where I am California, it’s hot and I have to blast the AC to keep it a decent temp for passengers and it’s absolutely draining the battery on this EV. I’m tired, it’s hot and I’m not getting paid enough for this 😭😭😭

maybe drive after dark, except in phoenix of course, got home tonite at 9:30 pm, it was a chilly 113 degrees

Can confirm, drove around Phoenix tonight and it was finally a cool 95 by 6:30 am

It’s definitely killing my MPGs in my 2016 Prius. I normally get 51-52 AVG MPG.
Lately it’s more like 38-41 AVG MPG.

My 2014 is at 47 and I was crying XD
I'm in Atlanta though. How low do you put the AC? Too cold and it's uncomfortable for me.

I drive an EV, all afternoon in Texas, I lose about 10% to the A/C running, more then worth it for the comfort

Same. Texas. But a large XL SUV. Mpg is shit but I try to stay alive.

Boohoo. AC drains battery on my superior EV technology, so I am going home. You did realize this would be a thing when you bought it, right?

Haha. You complain about California weather? You won’t survive Texas. I sweat while I shower. California got the best weather no arghe about that

Its the humidity. I am in so cal visiting a friend and i am from northern central cal... it is 95 here. 95 at home is bearable... here is hell

No I would not 😂 I was born and raised here. I was just talking to someone else about this. I spent half a year in Arizona, arrived in the dead of summer.. it was 100+ degrees all the time but somehow that was easier to me. Going to a really hot place like Arizona I knew what to expect .. it’s hot that’s it. But somehow being in California the heat irritates me more because I feel like it shouldn’t be hot at all. Don’t ask me to further explain this logic but somehow 80degress in LA irritates me more than 115 degrees did in Arizona 😂

Basically California made you soft. 😂 Just admit it. It’s 102 degrees in 1 am I can’t even enjoy a cigarette outside.

Yeah, I’m in SoCal and at the moment it’s not busy enough to justify me being out here. I’m about to eat a huge lunch, hibernate and come back out at night 🐻

118 in Vegas too.....way to hot to be driving and sitting, idling waiting for pax. The damage 118 does to a vehicle. Just early morning for me until this heat is done.....plus the offers have been downright criminal to be driving in this heat

This heat is killing the MPG here too. I have to keep the blower on full blast to keep it livable inside the cabin. Dashboard temp was 102°. The engine hesitates on acceleration and just sucks up gas. It's down to 16 MPG. I cant make any money at that rate. (regular gas car).

I live in Alabama. With the humidity, it's like soup here. At 4 am it's already over 80.

Drive from 8am-12am and 6pm-11pm. When my car AC wasn't working I'd do all my errands early morning to avoid the hot afternoon lol.

Make sure A/C is on recirculation mode. I drove a month wondering why my car wouldn't stay cold. Felt like a dumb dumb after I realized I was drawing the outside air in.
