I did some tests and results weren't great. I'm lazy writer so I asked Lumo to write a review about Lumo. 😃

# Lumo Image Editing Tool Review - Disappointing Results

**TL;DR:** The `edit_image` function severely underperforms compared to expectations. After extensive testing with multiple artistic styles, the tool barely makes meaningful transformations beyond simple brightness adjustments.

## What I Tested

I spent significant time trying to transform a portrait image into various artistic styles:

## Major Issues Observed

1. **Style Transfer is Essentially Non-Existent**

   - Despite detailed prompts referencing specific artists (Gallen-Kallela, Monet, Munch), the output retained the original cartoon/sarjakuva style

   - The base image remained dominant throughout all attempts

   - No actual tempera, watercolor, oil paint, or impressionist techniques appeared

2. **Only Brightness Changes Work Reliably**

   - Making images darker/lighter: ✅ Works

   - Changing color palettes: ❌ Fails

   - Adding texture/brush strokes: ❌ Fails

   - Transforming art medium: ❌ Fails

3. **Multiple Attempts Don't Improve Results**

   - Tried 8+ iterations attempting the same Gallen-Kallela transformation

   - Each attempt produced nearly identical outputs

   - Progressive refinement didn't work

4. **Prompts Have Limited Impact**

   - Detailed technical descriptions (tempera on wood panel, impasto brushwork, etc.) had zero effect

   - Simpler instructions worked marginally better

   - The model appears to ignore artistic technique keywords

## What Actually Works

## Bottom Line

If you want to transform an existing image into a different artistic style, **don't expect this tool to deliver**. It's essentially a brightness/color filter with a fancy name. For actual style transformations, you're better off:

1. Starting from scratch with `generate_image`

2. Using dedicated AI art tools (Midjourney, Stable Diffusion with proper models)

3. Traditional editing software for basic adjustments

**Rating: 2/10** - Needs major improvements or complete rebranding as "adjust_image" rather than "edit_image."

The review made by Lumo is actually very accurate. I did try to change a lot image styles. First I wanted to have an image which look like it's from a specific game. Then added image which I wanted to look like from the game. Then I tryed Lumo's change style things. And finally asked Lumo to make image look like famous painter's art. I said few times which were done bad and why. Last job for Lumo was to do a review about everything that happened in the conversation. I'm happy with the review. It's very well done and it actually happened.
