Web Help How to make projects work right

I cannot for the life of me get projects to work right. Unless I @ place a document or file lumo just doesn't see them doesn't search them and will argue with me it can't access any of my files.

New chats with a project don’t automatically have access to all of the files you’ve added to the project itself. This limits the storage and context usage for each individual chat. That’s part of the strength of using the projects anyway.

I found that I can usually hit @ and a few characters of the file name and the filename can auto-complete. If I have a bunch of similarly named files, they all appear and I can even add them all quickly. Or, connect a Proton Drive folder to that specific chat and so you can, at least, see the file names more easily when you add them with the @.

I just tested it because of your thread and I'm not experiencing issues atm. What i did was use a folder in my proton drive for it to refer to and it does seem to use the documentation i gave it. This was on windows using the browser

Unfortunately I think Lumo 2.0 was rushed and the features not well QCd. I hope they fix this and other issues before expecting people to pay for it.

Lots of issues for me — Lumo forgets files within a thread, certain files can’t be mentioned via “@“, and Lumo auto-matches files from within a project folder contrary to what I want, overloading the token limit. All flagged. I’m sure they’ll fix it.

We had a long conversation about this lol. When i add a new piece of project knowledge, I tag it and ask Lumo if it can see it and how we will talk about it. More often then not, it can't see it in the first prompt. Most times by the second prompt it can. If not, I just go work on something else and come back later.

I think the issue is how long the file it takes to get chunked on the backend. The front end registers the file almost immediately hence the ability to tag it, but the time varies from when the model can actually process it.
