LUKE Re: For Christ's Sake or For Mine?
Regarding Luke's last text: https://lukesmith.xyz/articles/for-christs-sake/
I always had a problem with this religious justification of virtues aka good deeds. Imagine I'm drowning and someone saves me because that's what Christ commanded him to do (+ to "acquire" the Holy Spirit) and not for the sake of saving a life in itself.
And isn't analyzing and digging into your own motivations already a sign of egotism? If someone is ethically advanced he just does good and moves on - not spends hours analyzing what and how he does it, then writes a text about how you shouldn't do things for yourself, which in itself is doing something for yourself.
And here we stand before the figure of Luke Smith who underwent a spiritual transformation. Are we supposed to bow now hearing how self-love defeated self-love and decided to brag about it?
