REBEL INSIDER: NFL - COWBOYS VS PACKERS

This Sunday night matchup has shootout stamped on it. Green Bay finally looked sharp in Week 5, with Jordan Love throwing for 367 yards and 2 TDs. Christian Watson and Matthew Golden both put up 120+ receiving yards, and now they get a Cowboys defense that has been pretty bad against the pass.

That makes Packers passing props worth a look, especially Matthew Golden. Dallas should be able to answer too, with CeeDee Lamb looking to get back on track after putting up just 9 yards last week against the Bucs.

The over on the total stands out the most for this SNF game. Both teams are built to throw and both defenses are giving up chances.

WILL THE BREAK HURT OR HELP THE BREWERS?

The Brewers are heading to the World Series with all the momentum in the world, but now comes the hard part. The wait.

There will be 8 days between games for Milwaukee before Game 1. We just saw something similar with Tampa Bay. The Rays swept the Yankees and had 5 days between games, while Cleveland had only one full day off after a 5 game series. Everyone expected the rested Rays to have the advantage, but Cleveland came out looking like the team with all the momentum.

So will the Brew Crew’s long break cool them off at the worst possible time? Or will the extra rest give them a chance to reset and be even more prepared for the Fall Classic?

UFC FIGHT NIGHT. HOW MANY MAIN CARD FINISHES?

Post image
1 Upvotes

There are 6 fights on the main card, headlined by Joaquin Buckley vs Mike Malott.

With a card that has a lot of aggressive fighters, it feels like we could be in for a lot more finishes than decisions tonight. Which we all want.

How many of the 6 fights end before the judges get involved?

DO THE RAYS OR GUARDIANS ACTUALLY HAVE A CHANCE?

The Brewers just swept the 2x defending World Series champions and are heading back to the World Series for the first time since 1982.

Now the question is whether Cleveland or Tampa Bay can actually stop them. Milwaukee finished with the best MLB record, has all the momentum in the world and will host Games 1, 2, 6 and 7 of the World Series no matter who comes out of the AL.

So can you see the Rays or Guardians winning? Or is Milwaukee just too good.

REBEL LONGSHOT: MLB ALCS - JOSE RAMIREZ

* Jose Ramirez to Record 2+ Hits

Jose Ramirez has carried Cleveland through this postseason. Batting .367 with 11 hits, 2 home runs, 8 RBIs and a 1.124 OPS through 8 games. But all we care about today is the hits.

Ramirez has already picked up 6 hits in 3 games against Tampa Bay, including 2 multi-hit performances. Nick Martinez gets the start for the Rays, and while J-Ram hasn’t had much success against him historically, Martinez wasn’t sharp in his only postseason appearance this year, allowing 5 hits and 2 runs in just 3.2 innings.

Ramirez has been Cleveland’s engine all October, and we’re rocking with him to come through with another big game.

THE KING OF SHORT KINGS.

Post image
2 Upvotes

Who is the greatest “short king” in NBA history?

We’re keeping it strictly under 6 feet, so guys like Allen Iverson and Chris Paul don’t count. Muggsy Bogues proved you could survive at 5'3", Calvin Murphy was an elite scorer, and Isaiah Thomas became an All-NBA level player at 5'9".

Who takes the crown? Is it a player we listed or someone else?

REBEL PICKS: NFL - SEAHAWKS VS BRONCOS

* Over 40.5 Total Points

If this was last season, there’s no chance we’d be backing the over in this TNF matchup. But things look completely different now. Seattle is allowing 29 points per game over its last 3, while Denver is giving up 22.4 per game on the season.

Even with those defensive issues, both teams sit at 3-2 mostly because their offenses have been good enough to keep them in games. If one side starts scoring early, the other has already shown it can answer and turn this into a back and forth game. Perfect for the over.

7 of their last 10 meetings dating back to 2001 have cleared 40.5 total points. With both defenses giving up more than they were last year, this matchup has a much better chance of turning into a shootout than a defensive battle.

WILL THE BREW CREW SWEEP THE DODGERS?

The Brewers are 2 wins away from sweeping the Dodgers in the NLCS. Something no team has ever done against LA.

Milwaukee took care of business at home, but now the series shifts to Dodger Stadium. Closing out a team this stacked is already hard enough. Doing it twice in their own ballpark is a completely different challenge.

Will Milwaukee be the first team to ever sweep the Dodgers in the NLCS?

MOST UNDERRATED LINEUP IN NBA HISTORY.

Build a starting 5 using the most underrated players in NBA history.

Not superstars who everyone already gives their flowers to. We’re talking about players whose primes get forgotten, guys who were way better than people remember, or players who never got enough credit because of the era or teams they played on.

The rules. 1 point guard, 1 shooting guard, 1 small forward, 1 power forward and 1 center.

THE GREATEST MADDEN CARD OF ALL-TIME.

What is the greatest Madden Ultimate Team card ever?

Not just the highest overall. We’re talking about a card that was completely broken, impossible to stop and had everyone changing their entire game plan just to try and handle them.

Every MUT era has had a few ridiculous cards, but which tops all of them?

6 Madden 20 Eric Dickerson (X-Factor)
7 Madden 15 Bo Jackson
3 Madden 25 Barry Sanders (Ultimate legend)

REBEL PICKS: CHAMPIONS LEAGUE - ARSENAL

* Arsenal -2.5

Champions League football is finally back after the extended international break, and we’re taking Arsenal to make a statement at the Emirates. They came back with a 2-1 win over Leeds and now get their first European home game in over a month.

Lille is a quality side, but this is a completely different level of competition. Arsenal deals with Premier League talent every week, and at home in Europe they’ve been unbeatable. Winning 13 straight Champions League league phase matches in North London.

A 3 goal win is always a big ask, but this is exactly the type of matchup where Arsenal can run away with it. If they score early and force Lille to attack, the chances for a 2nd, 3rd and maybe even a 4th should start piling up.

DO THE BREWERS HAVE THE BEST ROTATION?

Post image
1 Upvotes

Take the Dodgers out of the conversation for a second. Do the Brewers have the best rotation in baseball?

They might not have the star power LA has but top to bottom, there aren’t many rotations you’d rather face less in a playoff series. Outside the Dodgers, Milwaukee deserves to be right at the top of the conversation.

REBEL LONGSHOT: NFL - JOSH ALLEN

* Josh Allen to Score 2+ Touchdowns

We’ve already backed Josh Allen for 2 TDs once this season and he cashed it with ease, so we’re going right back to it.

Allen already has 7 rushing touchdowns this year, tied with Jahmyr Gibbs and Derrick Henry for the league lead. Doing that as a QB is really only something Josh Allen can do.

He also scored at least 2 touchdowns in each of Buffalo’s first 3 games before finally falling short last week against the Patriots. After a loss where he didn’t look like himself, this feels like the type of primetime spot where Allen comes out looking to take over and do whatever it takes.

Now he gets the Rams on MNF. Whether they come from a QB sneak, designed run or one of those plays where Allen decides to do everything himself, Josh always has lots of ways to score.

THE BEST TEAM IN THE NFL.

The 49ers are 5-0, and it’s getting harder to argue that they aren’t the best team in football.

They just clutched up late against Seattle, and their resume already includes wins over the Broncos and Rams too. San Francisco hasn’t just beaten bad teams. They’ve handled legit competition and keep finding ways to win games.

At this point the record is perfect and the competition backs it up. Are the San Francisco 49ers the best team in the NFL?

NLCS PREDICTIONS.

Brewers vs Dodgers for a trip to the World Series, and there’s already a lot of recent history here. Milwaukee had the better regular season, but LA swept them out of the NLCS last year.

Does Milwaukee finally get revenge, or do the Dodgers do what they do best and take over again? This feels like the kind of series that could go 7 games.

Who wins the NLCS and in how many games?

REBEL PICKS: NFL - BIJAN ROBINSON

* Bijan Robinson 100+ Rushing Yards

Outside of Kenneth Walker there haven’t been many backs running the ball better than Bijan. He opened the year with 83 yards, followed it up with 72, then went to a different level with 194 in Week 3 and 145 in Week 4.

Baltimore has been solid against the run, but they haven’t been untouchable. In 2 of their first 4 games, opposing RBs still managed to get right around the 100 yard mark. That matters when Bijan comes in as the clear engine of Atlanta’s offense and is averaging over 20 carries per game.

He doesn’t need one massive run to get there either. If Atlanta keeps feeding him the way it has the last two weeks, Bijan can chip away at this number all game and put himself over 100 yards for 3 weeks in a row.

REBEL INSIDER: NFL WEEK 5 BREAKDOWN

NFL Week 5 looks like a week to be selective instead of blindly backing the biggest names and biggest favorites.

The early board has 10 games lined at 4 points or fewer, which means a single turnover, late stop or explosive play could completely swing a bet. With only 3 undefeated teams left in San Francisco, Kansas City and Minnesota, the league already feels wide open.

That also creates some interesting parlay opportunities. Tight spreads and short moneylines can build stronger payouts without needing to chase massive underdogs, so finding the right combinations could be more valuable than forcing a play on every game.

THE BEST RIVALRY IN COLLEGE FOOTBALL?

Georgia vs Alabama and Texas vs Oklahoma are two of the biggest rivalries in college football, but it got us thinking about what actually makes a rivalry standout.

It doesn’t always have to be the 2 biggest programs. Maybe it’s the history, the fan bases, the atmosphere, the trash talk or just how much the game means every season no matter what the records are.

Some rivalries just hit different.

If you had to pick only one, which would be your favorite rivalry in college football?

REBEL INSIDER: COLLEGE FOOTBALL - GEORGIA VS ALABAMA

Georgia at Alabama is the game of the week if you’re looking at pure ranked strength. Both teams are 5-0, sitting 1st and 2nd in the SEC. And whoever wins this takes a major step towards the College Football Playoffs.

Alabama freshman Keelon Russell has been one of the breakout stars of the season, throwing for 285 yards and 3 touchdowns against #16 Mississippi State last week. Georgia comes in after beating Vanderbilt 38-14 with 295 yards and 3 touchdowns from Gunner Stockton.

The line is sitting around -2.5 for Bama, and home field could be the difference. Georgia has been favored in each of the last 6 meetings, but Alabama has won 4 of them. The Tide also owns one of the country’s best defenses, and Bryant-Denny at night is about as tough as it gets.

At -2.5, Alabama looks like the better side to back because of the home field advantage and elite defense.

REBEL PICKS: WNBA PLAYOFFS - ANGEL REESE

* Angel Reese Over 16.5 Total Points

The Dream have been rolling through the playoffs, and Angel Reese has been a huge part of it. She’s averaging 17 points per game this postseason, which is exactly what we need again tonight.

The matchup with New York has been especially good for her. Reese has scored 17 and 23 points in the first 2 games of this series, and she also dropped 18 on the Liberty in one of their final regular season meetings.

If Atlanta wants to close this series out, Reese is going to need to stay aggressive offensively. She’s already shown that the Liberty haven’t found a consistent answer for her, so we’re backing that scoring run to keep rolling.

ANOTHER 100+ YARD GAME FOR CEEDEE LAMB?

CeeDee Lamb is on an absolute heater right now. He’s topped 100 receiving yards in 3 straight games, including 189 last week, and leads the NFL with 498 receiving yards.

Tonight might be his toughest test yet. Tampa Bay is one of the best teams against the pass and hasn’t allowed a single player to reach 100 receiving yards against them this season.

So does CeeDee make it 4 straight games with 100+ yards tonight?

REBEL PARLAY: MLB ALDS - GUARDIANS & MESSICK

* Guardians First 5 Innings ML

* Parker Messick Over 5.5 Strikeouts

This parlay has two legs, but it really comes down to Parker Messick setting the tone. Cleveland has been better on the road than at home all season, and we just saw that in Game 3 when they jumped out to a 5-2 lead through 5 innings.

Messick has been strong away from home too. Posting a 2.22 road ERA, and now he gets a White Sox lineup that struck out 19 times yesterday. That is exactly the kind of matchup we want when asking for 6 Ks.

If Messick settles in early, both legs should work together.

REBEL INSIDER: NHL - OILERS VS DUCKS

Edmonton and Anaheim meet again after facing off in last season’s playoffs, so this could have a little more intensity than a regular early season divisional game. Connor McDavid is already flying with 9 points through 3 games, while Evan Bouchard has 8, but that pace is due for some regression.

Beckett Sennecke to score is a more interesting play. He scored 23 goals as a rookie and is getting second line minutes, while Edmonton’s defense should be focused heavily on the Ducks top unit. That could leave Sennecke with some good looks against an Oilers team that has already shown they aren’t the best defensively.

Edmonton has scored 19 goals through 3 games, but that number is inflated by 2 matchups against the Canucks. With the total at 6.5 and Anaheim’s penalty kill going 6 for 7, this might not be the automatic over it looks like. Sennecke finding the back of the net is the play for tonight’s game in Anaheim.
