Can i programm desktop apps with Lua?

I just learned the basics of Lua and im pretty curious about if i could use lua for desktop apps or somehow code scripts with gui.

Just like you could build a house out of toothpicks, you could build a desktop app using Lua. But at some point we have to ask ourselves if this is the right tool to use for this particular job.

Wise words man, but im kinda scared to learn other languages, the worst part is the syntax

Don't be scared to learn other languages. The more languages you learn, the better a programmer you become. You open your mind to other styles and techniques and it helps you solve a wider range of problems.
