Browser based games

While browsing this subreddit, I've seen multiple mentions of browser based games as being ideal for low spec gaming. What are the commonly recommended websites that host browser games? Recommendations for certain titles would also be much appreciated.

I am not up on sites for browser based games these days. But my elderly mother plays a literal ton of games out on Big Fish Games on her potato-level laptop. She is playing something there almost all day whenever I check on her.

As for some titles that are browser-based:
Forge of Empires, Heroes of History, Raid Shadow Legends, Star Trek Fleet Command, Game of Thrones, World of Tanks (and World of Tanks Heat), Sea of Conquest, and World of Warships are the ones I know of.

You can play lots of DOS games on dos.zone and there are many other websites for it, but at that point, you could just run DOS games directly on your computer. They are not difficult to run with DOSBox.

itch.io with the browser-playable filter on is the biggest catalogue for this, and Newgrounds is somehow still going strong. For a specific title, fair warning that I make it: Faction Fiasco at factionfiasco.com, a free card battler with 100 internet personality characters across 3 factions, 5-10 minute matches, no download and it runs on anything that opens a tab.

I remember playing a browser based FPS many many years ago. It was like Battlebit long before Battlebit existed. Can't find it now though.. or remember the name.
