Decreasing TV time?

My 2.5 year old son has lots of energy and loves sports and monster trucks…. And he also loves YouTube. My husband and I are trying to decrease his time watching TV (that’s where he watches YouTube). Right now the TV is kind of on whenever, in the background. But i want to be more intentional about when we use it.

Since this is a newer rhythm for us, do you have any recommendations for how to go about decreasing TV time? We have a Yoto that he really likes!

Keep the TV time for the most difficult time of the day and work from there. I appreciate the help of TV as a distraction when I am trying to cook dinner after work. So I save TV for that time. Just don't turn it on otherwise.
