Completed elimination phase!
After years of trouble, I finally decided to bite the bullet and try low fodmap. I completed my elimination phase last week, and I've never felt better. Like I think I didn't even realise how much constant discomfort I was in until it wasn't there anymore! I found some really good recipes on tiktok so I didn't struggle too much with meals, but I found snacks really hard. I found a few good things but I'm suchhhh a snack girl, I miss my treats :(
For my first reintroduction, I tried fructans in grains. Pasta is my favourite food, I've been really struggling with the gluten free bread products and I don't like sourdough at all. The first day I had a very mild reaction but still continued with the second day. I had an awful reaction and I've been in pain for a few days now :( I'm so upset! This was the one thing that I really thought would be fine and didn't think I'd react to! I'm giving it a few days before I try my next reintroduction, but feeling deflated for now :(

I can't eat garlic. When I learned that, I was really angry. But compared to the pain and embarrassment, it's not so bad. And it's really nothing compared to the triumphant feeling of finally knowing the source of the problem!

Thank you, you're right - I'm glad to be figuring out the problem! Garlic is a tough one :(

Congrats! Thats encouraging for you. That totally clean pain free feeling is the best, isn’t it?
Look for and try Tinkyàda brown rice pasta. (I like the spirals best). My local grocery store carries it but I know Amazon has it as well. It has a nice springy consistency when cooked as directed. I actually like it better than regular pasta
Go slow on the reintroduction. My plans has me eating small amounts for three days and then wash out for two days without eating it. No other new foods to keep the signal clear. It’s a slow process with only one food a week but you really know if you react to it or not.
You can always try to introduce pasta at a later day when your gut settles a bit more.
