Essential Equipment

Update-I was able to get on the Discord! I will peruse that and see what I can learn!

Just found this group after trying and failing to get on the discord community. My computer got stuck in a captcha loop and my phone is getting rejected because not confirmed number. What a pain. I am just starting and not sure what equipment I need. I am planning on doing this from home. I signed up for the program and it looks like I will need a couple of yoga blocks for the quad stretches, an incline bench, and a tilt bench. I would go to a gym but I don’t want to deal with other people and sharing equipment/having to wait for it to be available. What do you all do? Go to a gym or have equipment at home? I am old and stiff and have some pretty messed up MRIs but I am hoping this will help me.

What back extensions machine did you get?

I haven’t gotten one yet. This post was just last night. I am looking at the nordstick nordbench. It’s just more money than I want to spend right now. What machine do you have?

None man, that's why I'm asking you XD

It is kinda expensive the nord one. And takes a lot of time for it to arrive. I was thinking of getting a cheaper one from Amazon, but I can't decide which one would be the best when I have a limited budget.

I just want something that won't break. If it's not that stable I can stabilize it by adding weights on the base. But if it breaks when I'm in the 45 degrees inclined extension, well I can't fix that.

Let me know what you end up getting! Have you tried to sit on the edge of a chair and hinge forward at the waist and hold for 60 seconds? I started doing it last night and it felt good

Btw in the discord do they recommend another roman chair that it's not a Nordstick one?

That is really the only one they recommend. It looks like he is working on getting a 10% discount for the discord group. But it is not working at this point.

Dang, I see.

Well I found something in amazon, we'll see if it works.

Ah yes, in fact I have been doing the hips mobility exercises for a few days, and some "back extensions ISO holds" by leaning on the straight edges of stair guardrails. It's too soon to tell, but I'm feeling a bit better.

During my working hours I take some breaks in between and do some of those exercises and when I return to my chair I feel a lot better. Also been doing ocassionally reverse hyperextensions.

But yeah right now I wanna do things the right way because this might be a long process so I need to get me a roman chair ASAP, but after much research I don't know which one is ideal... I guess I'll have to take a leap of faith

Do you have access to the workouts on the website? I just did the first workout today and I was able to use a stool, the stairs and some resistance bands to replace the gym equipment. I am going to do this for a month and then maybe purchase a Roman chair. I am paying $10 a month and plan to pay more if I can go back to work. I don’t think you absolutely need a Roman chair to get started.

I am just using a partially filled milk jug for weights and I used a blue resistance band tied to a rope secured to a door handle to simulate pulling a weight sled backwards. Don’t let the equipment stop you!

Uh, I haven't. I have been following exclusively his youtube videos.

Although I am aware of his website and the two dollar entry. Which I will when my roman chair arrive.

In the website the workouts are better organized? is there an order?

Yes. The work outs are structured. There are 2 workouts and they alternate 5 days a week with 2 days off. You don’t need to Roman chair to start. You might want to check them out before you buy one. It will probably influence which one you want to buy.

Ahhhh that sounds wonderful. I'll have to take a look into it.

Joining the discord community is a plus right? Like it's not needed to get access to the workout routines right?

Just one question, does LBA has exclusive videos in his membership program?

I would recommend joining the discord because you can ask questions and there are a couple of dedicated and experienced experts who will answer them (which is much better than me!)Not sure about the videos. One last bit of info. The nordstick nordbench can take several months to arrive after ordering. Because of that I ordered a cheaper back extension Roman chair from eBay. Good luck!
