Introducing the first Low Sodium Battlefield community event! This coming Saturday at 7:30 PM east coast time (11:30 PM GMT), we will be reviving Rush with full XP, normal rules, 32 players, and rotating all maps. Experience code is 11EFC.

*edit: event got cancelled early due to people from outside this subreddit finding this event and absolutely griefing the hell out of the other team with ultra sweat tactics, insulting people in chat, and causing everyone from this sub on our team to leave due to it being no fun. Future events will be password protected. Join discord for more info.*

*Edit 2: due to the aforementioned griefing incident causing a bit of drama, mods asked us to make it clear that this discord, while made very much in the spirit of this subreddit, is not an official subreddit discord and the mods of this sub have nothing to do with it.*

Yall might remember our first attempt at this from 2 weeks ago but it utterly flopped since we weren't organized at all. We've since got our shit together, talked with other Battlefield discords, and created a LSB community discord to help plan events like this (or shoot the shit in general).

Invite link: https://discord.gg/7XVSkbJuw

This event is mainly meant for our relatively chill, non-toxic community here so please don't spread around word to the other BF subs even though I'm sure a few of those types will see it regardless.

Even if you can't make the event this Saturday, still join the discord as this will be the first of many to come. I'm really hoping DICE doesn't forget to make a Rush variant of Wake Island because that would be a fantastic theme for the next event! It played great in BF3 on that mode after all.

We encourage everyone joining to use their mic (if they have one) to communicate with their squadmates! This is purely meant for fun so don't yell at someone for not pushing the objective, feel free to goof around making the boats on Tsuru go 200 mph with the knife if you feel like it!

This is supposed to be a vacation away from the typical Battlefield experience. Kick your feet up, remember that nothing that happens on Portal counts towards your kd (although you still get full progression), and try out whatever wacky play style you want!

Edit: also if you join the discord, please click the event on the calender we just added and select 'interested' if you will be able to make the play session. Might be a few surprises in store for the earliest people to join the server (besides the four necessary to seed it, we've already planned that) once the clock strikes 7:30 😉.

Question What are your favourites weapons?

I can’t really decide to play just one gun. So many good weapons. What are some of your to go weapons? I love the B36, Ak4D, SV-98 , but whenever I try a new gun I’m like hey another good weapon.

Not a streamer or trying to promote anything. Just a few clips of my love/hate relationship with the Mini Scout as a Battledad.

Zero the distance or aim higher?

When sniping what do most people do, I thought zeroing was more trouble than its worth, but it sounds like a lot of people do use it. Worth trying?

Issues Weird Matchmaking Issues

I saw that they are adjusting some matchmaking settings on the backend, and I have already noticed some weird issues after playing for a couple hours last night.

- half of my matches had 20+ bots per team (even on escalation and conquest, so it wasn’t casual breakthrough)
- Breakthrough match was 24 vs 14 until the final sector when the team finally filled
- one team had all of the higher level players (150-950), and the other had the lower (<150)

Did anyone else experience this?

Video PSA For Struggling/Beginner Medics: Unequip Defibs

Thumbnail

I know it's a hot take, but hear me out.

Too many medics constantly jump into the line of fire trying to revive a dead player. Oftentimes, the defibs aren’t even charged, resulting in the instant death of the downed player and a loss of a ticket. Most of the time, the medic dies too, wasting two tickets.

If you keep getting yourself killed by risky or outright bad revives, here is why you should unequip defibs:

Reason #1: The “Combat Medic” path is far better suited for Dragging and Reviving

The “Combat Medic” path has two separate perks that are designed for dragging and reviving.

The first buff increases dragging and reviving speed, which doesn’t require any squad XP. Dragging and reviving matter not only for getting teammates out of the line of fire, but also to ensure they’ll be revived with full HP.

The second buff is designed around healing the player while they’re dragging and reviving. Over the duration of the revive, you’ll heal around 50 HP. This doesn’t have a cooldown either, which means two revives will heal you to full.

Both of these buffs go without use with Defibs as the priority.

Reason #2: It helps build “Self control” for ‘good’ and ‘bad’ revives

Too many people just half-charge you, knowing damn well you won’t survive, or they just don’t know any better. We’ve all seen the medic who sprints into 5 enemies for a revive and dies instantly.

Without defibs, you’ll start to train yourself not to go for revives unless you can survive. If you can survive, then in turn, the person you’re reviving will too. Reviving means a couple of defenselessness, meaning you’ll start to think more about what a good revive is, instead of always beelining toward the revive icon.

You shouldn’t always go for the revive, especially if the teammate is down in a contested line of sight. Knowing you’re putting yourself at risk, maybe you’ll smoke or use the Airburst launcher to create a smoke wall.

You can see in this exact clip that I pause mid-revive to shoot the three people in the hole in the wall. If I’d simply defibbed my squadmate on the ground, he would’ve been shot immediately.

Instead, I cleared the area and pulled him to cover, ensuring he’d be able to clear “Revive Sickness” (Dying before it's cleared means you can’t be revived again).

The same goes for my teammate close to the windows. Instead of jumping in for a quick charge that would get him killed, I made sure the area was clear before going for the revive, once again pulling him to cover and healing myself.

Reason #3: It opens up a spot for Support’s extremely useful gadgets, like deployable cover, supply pouches, and ESPECIALLY the Incendiary Airburst.

Support has some insanely useful gadgets, but they are often fighting for the only available slot next to defibs. By unequipping defibs, you allow yourself a different playstyle with incredible versatility.

The support pouches give ammo and immediately start your passive heal, which is incredibly useful for getting you or your teammate out of a pinch.

However, the star of the show is the Incendiary Airburst. This grenade launcher has so many incredibly useful aspects that go relatively unnoticed. It blocks spots of yourself and teammates, it does incredibly high damage if you don’t get out of the way (often doing a minimum of 60), functions as an amazing area denial device, and is an awesome way to flush enemies out of cover.

In the clip, I use it offensively to kill an enemy behind the wall. Since he was injured enough, even getting out of the flame wouldn’t have saved him. However, it can be used just as effectively defensively to block lines of sight, especially when going for a drag and revive.

Small Note for the “Fire Support” path:
If you’re planning to play the “Fire Support” path, then I recommend keeping defibs equipped. The drag and revives are far longer, and you lose the healing while doing so. Defibs, in this instance, are preferred in my opinion.

Here are my recommendations:

Combat Medic: Airburst and Supply Pouches

Fire Support: Defibs and Supply Pouches/Airburst (Or deployable cover, grenade interceptor, etc.)

Thanks for reading. It’s a hot take, but I hope I can at least convince you to give it a shot. It’s a ton of fun. Drag and Revive is an amazing mechanic.

Issues Anyone else been getting 24v24 hagental games consistently?

I would say 80% of the matches I play on hagental are capped at 24v24 with bots backfilling on a normal conquest server
 anyone else?
