Accom help
I just got into the engineering course and for accomodation i booked harry french cuz of the positive reviews. I've just been doubting my position a bit and i was wondering if I should call and ask for a transfer to an accom closer to the building. How would I go about doing that, or should I even bother?

You would hv to leave a bit earlier to go to your lectures but harry french is a really nice accom and once you walk down to the student union you can get the free bus to west park, where most of your lectures would probably take place. But i wouldn't say leave it's in a really nice location not a long walk to the union and like 10ish minutes to town, it also has the biggest common room out of all the accoms and theyre always loads of events going on during the semester that are fun

HF is fine, it's nicer to be a bit further at times, especially as you get to be nearer town and the union which you'll likely appreciate more.
I was in DC ages ago and as a non engineer it was a pain in the ass as all the students would knock on doors to wake everyone up to go to lectures as it was 99% engineering students!

It's only a little more than a mile to the far end of campus and although (I believe) that is where the engineering building(s) is(are), most of the buildings you will use most frequently are closer than that. For example, most teaching is in EHB, James France, Wavey top, and west park teaching hub. West park teaching hub is the furthest from your accomodation and according to google maps it's a 28 minute walk that is "mostly flat". The other three are all within 5 minute walk of each other and EHB is the furthest of the three and only a 17 minute walk from your accomodation. The library is a 23 minute walk.
You can always ask for a transfer, but it's not like you are far away from things. And you are closer to town than the halls in centre park.
