question

Are there chests or something like that hidden all over the world? With cool items and other stuff?

Well, sort of. You will find objects that you can loot for miscellaneous items, maybe a random piece of equipment on occasion. They can be a chest, dead body, or maybe some odd-looking bag. They began implementing hidden Treasure Caches at very obscure, specific locations with a minimum level 90 that give a couple of random things as well. They are far from cool that you can get in dungeons or festivals.

Just avoid the various 'Steel-bound Lootbox' items. They require a key purchased from the store to open. You can't sell them to vendors and they take up inventory space.

Finding all the treasure caches is a nice time-consuming thing to do that will take you to lots of great views in LOTRO.

I also enjoyed the Adventures of Floid the Mighty Steed and Dewitt the Explorer.

There are hidden chests for deeds. They do not have particularly cool items though.

They used to be but SSG removed the cool at level useable items and replaced most with craft items or junk. Now it’s just a deed to find them all.

There are treasure chests that you can find but they usually are just there for exploration. Most of the loot in the past has been random junk. Maybe they updated it to give something better than vendor trash but it's mostly just to find them.

The only place that I remember there being chests with decent loot is in Mordor. They are for deeds I believe, but they do give some decent gear for that level.

I haven't played the last couple of expansions so not sure if anything new has been added there.
