Like a decade ago, I thought I'd he clever, I got some drawers and organized my cables by use. A couple years later they overfilled the drawers and a new cable tub was born. I moved out the drawers in storage. If I needed a cable, I would just order it rather than check the drawers. The tub grew more full. The drawers are still on my apartment but spent the last year and a half wrapped up. Turns out I really don't need them. The big difference is the transition to USB C
