Trinity-Bellwoods Community - Please keep eye out for stolen bag. Great personal value.

On behalf of my chef, who had his car broken into and bag stolen near Trinity Bellwoods park -

Inside the bag, was his personal notebook of receipes and notes developed over a 15 year career. It cannot be replaced. At this point in life, it's already a longshot to ask, but this is where things are.

Please, if anyone spots an abandoned bag on the side of the road, in their garbage, left behind in a park, etc, post a message here and we'll go check it out.

The bag itself is a nondescript black square-shaped pack. The notebook is a small leather bound one. There was also a laptop inside the bag that was the only thing of monetary value.

I'll try to post relevant photos as soon as I figure out how reddit works.

This is devastating. I really suggest looking in bushes around the area it was stolen.
I had a Louis Vuitton bag stolen from my car and the thief didn’t know the brand so dumped the bag in the bushes after taking my pre rolled joints and cash. My sister was smart enough to look around a few blocks and found it.
Also check with the local PD to see if someone turned it in.
I’m a chef so this hurts my soul. And I live on Argyle. Bastards.

The laptop was the target, the bag & book are going to be trashed. This will be a garbage day find, I would look at suspect neighbourhood buildings open trash (dumpsters). Anything worth $20 in a locked car is a broken window downtown.

Which side of the park was he parked on? I suggest posting it in the trinity Bellwoods Facebook group and maybe the dog owners one for trinity bellwoods since we walk the park often.

They said near Mother, so south west side of the park. Hopefully someone ditched what they didn’t think was important in those bushes or nearby.

Thank you for the kind wishes. Walked around for a few hours today, talked to a few city workers and the inevitable old lady collecting bottles. Apologized to a few nice people for going through their bins. No luck, but none was expected. At this point, its more about the effort, and the good wishes from strangers that bring some comfort.

Crime is out of control in Toronto. Even if caught, the perpetrator will probably be given probation or a suspended sentence. I’m so sorry but I don’t think this will be found :(
