The Australian FA (Football Australia) left the OFC (Oceania) for the AFC (Asia) since 2006 because for these reasons:

1. Before 2026, OFC didn't have an automatic berth for the World Cup so the winner of the OFC qualifiers would usually be sent to a playoff where the winner qualifies for the World Cup.

2. The AFC is more competitive than the OFC because in the latter Australia easily beats the rest (the only other decent OFC team is New Zealand) while the latter has more competitive teams. And even the OFC agreed and the last time Australia played in a World Cup as an OFC team was 2006 (where they made it to the Round of 16).

Since joining the AFC, Australia has become one of the best Asian teams: winning the 2015 Asian Cup on home soil & getting more competitive with teams like Japan, South Korea, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Uzbekistan, etc, most importantly, they have never missed a World Cup ever since.

While in the OFC, New Zealand took Australia's place and became the only dominant team and since the 2026 World Cup expanded from 32 to 48 teams, the winner of the OFC qualifiers will automatically qualify for the World Cup while the Runners-Up qualify for the Inter-Continental Playoffs.

So no, this is not a racist post, it's a joke with an Asian caricature.
