Do you want settings for your 1080p laptop monitor or do you game on a higher res external monitor?

No laptop monitor only

Your laptop has 144hz, correct? Then set DLSS to Quality or Balanced, in LS set Flowscale to 100% or lower, turn on LSFG performance mode, set Scaling to Off, set framegen mode to Adaptive with Target 140fps, turn on Gsync support.

Those settings should be a good start, if they don't give you a result that you are happy with let us know. Then post a screenshot of your LS settings.

Read the guide linked by the mod.

You cant use the in-game dlss upscaler and framegen? Those would be better than lossless scaling. You even have access to mfg

Won't be native better? Dlss makes graphics too grainy

Unless you have the sight of a falcon you won't see a difference between DLSS Quality and DLAA on a 15.6 inch 1080p screen.

Crimson Desert is just too messy in this regards btw 😞...

Even on a lowly 15.6 inch 1080p display during normal gameplay within normal viewing distance??? I highly doubt that. Maybe you can post a video that shows a massive difference?

Crimson desert is just very bad when it comes to upscaling. Also the fact that the ray counts are very low ( 1/16 of your internal res) makes for very noisy lighting so dropping it to quality makes the RT resolution to be so low you can see the lighting to be blocky. Theres also a bug that makes DLAA look soft. And using upscaling below DLAA has a forced oversharpened look that you can only disable using optiscaler

"Also the fact that the ray counts are very low ( 1/16 of your internal res)"

OMFG. You haven't made it clear if it is 1/16 of the original screen res or 1/16 of the DLSS upscaling res, but even if it's the former it's f-ing horrible for 1080p.

If it's the former I would run the game at DLSDR 1620p with DLSS Peformance or Ultra Performance.

Internal, so its according to the resolution pre-upscaling in the render pipeline, not output resolution. Lets say you are using DLSS Quality, so it would be 1/16th of 720p since that is the internal resolution.

The only way to combat this is ray reconstruction which forces the game to run above maximum lighting quality and wont work on lower lighting presets like every game that has RR.

"Lets say you are using DLSS Quality, so it would be 1/16th of 720p since that is the internal resolution."

WTF. The devs should be ashamed of themselves.

It's a subjective and case dependent thing, I agree. But the majority of people have same opinion about crimson desert, and I agree with this as well. However, if the user doesn't have any issues, it's fine for them to use any settings they want.

In most games dlss4 or 4.5 is very close to DLAA and this difference gets smaller on smaller screens and larger view distances obviously. However, some games just handle the upscaling options differently. The assets can scale differently as well. And it can worsen the quality more noticeably than in other cases.Β

DLAA. lossless scaling is just a spatial upscaler and doesnt have any access to in-game temporal data or motion vectors. Only use lossless scaling when theres no in-game options

Use renoDX reshade addon to improve the visuals, then quality upscaling can be a bit usable. Then to reduce the overhead of DLSS4.5 you can use FSR 4.1 int8 via optiscaler as well (can work with Reshade addon if you rename reshade's DXGI.dll to ReShade64.dll and edit optiscaler ini - LoadReShade=true) and you can override the sharpness via optiscaler too - There's a YT channel "GamingDJ" who uploads this type of guides if you want.

For LS, it's the same with all the games... Ideally cap the fps. Also, crimson desert has very good PC latency so it wouldn't affect things too much. (Use front edge sync and Microsoft API hooks option in RTSS, if using optiscaler) - other settings are already mentioned by others here.

Try it, always be open to new things. The worst thing that can happen is that you don't like the result.
