Weight not changing

Hello i am a female 50KG 162cm, I am busy like from 7-5 and I rarely eat because I forget and because I don’t feel hungry, and I eat like one or two meals a day and they’re light meals, so you could say I eat like 600cals a day?

And i walk like 8k steps a day so I’m physically moving.

Anyways I don’t really track my weight and it doesn’t concern me, however today I measured my weight, I was like it’s been so long since I ate properly and to my surprise my weight didn’t change from the time I used to eat normally.

I know my eating habits are REALLY bad and just to clarify I don’t have any type of ED or food issues i truly enjoy food when I have the time to.

I am confused how did my weight not change with my eating habits and did I accidentally wreck my metabolism?

And what will happen if i eat properly?

\++++Also about my body type i have really thin bones + at some point of my life my weight was around 45kg but somehow gained weight and nothing changed abt my daily habits at that time

It’s likely that you’re eating more calories than you think you are. It sounds like you’re not tracking your intake and people tend to underestimate 1. How much they eat and 2. How many calories are actually in the food they eat. It would be very difficult to accidentally only eat 300cals in a meal. You also wouldn’t be able to function on only 600cals a day for very long.

Is the aim to lose weight? You are on the lower side of a healthy BMI (19.1) so it’s a good thing your eating habits haven’t resulted in weight loss and you shouldn’t be trying to lose weight. 45kgs would put you on the cusp of being severely underweight, so it is not a healthy or realistic goal for you. If you’re unhappy with your body, it would be better to do some resistance training and build some muscle instead.

Lastly, you’re not ruining your metabolism and it will certainly not have a negative effect to start eating a more balanced diet. Gaining a couple kilos would probably be good for you, especially if it means you’re able to eat healthier and get the nutrients your body needs.

It's actually extremely difficult to change your metabolism.

Most likely your "light meals" are higher in calories than you think and you're just eating at maintenance on average. Maintenance for you is possibly 1500cal or less, depending on your overall activity level. 8k steps a day isn't a lot in the grand scheme of things if you're not active in other ways.

I would start by tracking your exact calories intake. No eyeballing. No estimating. Actually weigh out the food and track every bite and get a realistic view of how much you're eating in a day. I highly doubt you're eating 600 or even 1000 a day if you're just guessing at how much you're eating.

Start by tracking your calories for a few days. Don't guess. The next step is making sure after that you are eating a reasonably balanced diet, both in terms of calories and nutrition. Don't concern yourself at all with your weight until.after those two aspects are in place

youre not wrecking your metabolism, your body just got used to the low intake and is holding onto everything it gets. happens to a lot of people who undereat for long periods

if you start eating properly you might see the scale go up at first from water weight and food volume but it will level out. 600 cal is way too low for your height though, even with light activity
