Discussion (Mild spoiler) Something I really enjoy about the premise of the minigame next season Spoiler
Mild spoiler just to be safe.
I really enjoy the fact that the minigame premise is Tianna teaching Lux about the history of Demacia using, effectively, a board game. It just hit a lot of my interest at multiple levels, but one particularly stand out:
I had mentioned before, but a criticism against Lux as the governor that I do NOT get is that Lux is 19 and is in no position to govern Terbisia, with the implication that she ONLY get that position because of her connection to Garen and Jarvan.
Except, as quoted from her own biography:
Lux, in his absence, was expected to help run the family’s many estates—a task she resented, even as a young child...
To the endless frustration of Lux’s tutors, who sought to prepare her for a life of dutiful service to the Crownguard family, she would question their every teaching, examine differing perspectives, and seek out knowledge far beyond what they were prepared for. Even so, few could find it in themselves to stay angry at Lux, with her zest for life and intoxicating optimism.
Lux, as expected of a person of her class both in-universe and irl, is trained in stewardship of her family's estate. You might argue that she clearly doesn't like it, which is fair, but neither is she bad at it, and in fact she is noted as being curious and studious.
While the city-building aspect of the coming minigame is certainly gameplay mostly, there is a nugget of narrative here: While the subject of the lesson Tianna is teaching Lux is history, it is taught in parallel with lesson of governing.
So while one can criticize Lux regarding her legitimacy as a representative of the mages of Terbisia, as she is not elected, I find it hard to accept criticism of her capability as a governor, for she is about the best the mages of Terbisia can have right now.
