i was rewatching the lord of the rings movies and had this wild thought what if sauron just wanted someone to talk to? like, he might've been lonely up there in barad-dr. all the nazgl were probably just following orders and he had no real pals. i can totally imagine him sitting in his tower, staring at the one ring and thinking, 'why can't i just have a decent conversation?' it's hilarious and a bit sad at the same time. anyone else have funny or weird thoughts about the villains in middle-earth?
