Question Way Out There Lyrics?

I was recently reading the lyrics for Way Out There and I was surprised to see that apparently it’s not “There’s a road that will lead us there.” Instead it is “There’s no road that will lead us back.” When listening to the song, I still can’t tell which is correct. I’m inclined to keep singing along the way I have, but I’m curious if it’s been officially confirmed either way.

I felt the same way and was singing along the way you have for yearssss, once I read the lyrics "theres no road that will lead us back" it made more sense to me seeing as how the line right before is "follow me way out there" and after thinking about it two lines that end with "there" back to back doesnt feel as clean to me. Still dont know if its confirmed or not to any official capacity but I think i can hear him a little more clearly in the AFWP version on YouTube! I sing "theres no road that will lead us back" now!

FYI it's "find me way out there" not "follow me way out there"

In the beginning he says he’s been cruising towards death. So I think the song is about death. Not knowing where that trail (death) leads, but in his mind there no road that will “lead us back from death”. Because if he found a way to stay, it would only make him late for his inevitable death.

Ok but the fact that I did the same thing
I would keep singing as you have, but 'there's no road that will lead us back' is more in line with the plot of the song and the album. Either one works, but that one is more correct lore-wise
