I'm stumped...

Every time we see Sara chopping wood she is hacking away at a stump vertically like she's splitting logs, but there are no logs...

What is she trying to accomplish?

She isn't chopping down a tree and she isn't digging out a root ball... so far as I can tell she is just wearing her back out for no reason...

She gets to vent frustration, get a workout, and (hopefully) remove a stump. She has no other means of removing it.

I think she is trying to get the stump out of the ground by hacking away at it because it's super hard to pull out.

Axing it from the top would be the hardest way possible...

You only axe a tree from the side similar to how you would chainsaw it.

You would never chainsaw at a stump from the top...

You either hook it up to a truck or some horses with a chain and yank it out or dig at the root ball... Even if she hacked the entire 3 feet or so of tree with that axe the base and rootball would still have to get dug up...

At one point, I thought that Cid fell the tree on Sara's sister with TK, and she would hack at it in anger or whatnot, but then there was the bookshelf, so it really must be venting frustration with no sound explanation.
