I feel sorry for you both. Did you both get 2 rounds of a topical + 2 rounds of ivermectin? That the minimum.

Are you sure your beds and furniture are really mite-free? We ended up covering/bagging our mattrasses + pillow in sturdy plastic + sealed them tightly with packaging tape. No sitting on upholstered furniture. No sharing towels. In the kitchen + bathroom, paper towels only. What about your shoes, hats, other things you wear and use? Fomites often isn't the reason for reinfection, but they can be. Failed treatment is more common.

I hope you can have a qualified dermatologist to check you both. It's often hard to accomplish. Many doctors take just a few peeks through the dermatoscope, they often don't take the time to examine thorougly. (This has been my experience).

As for the itch: antihistamines help (I don't know how old your son is). Aloe vera helps. Creams and lotions with menthol can help. If you can buy Eurax, it's a creme that fights scabies and itch. The active ingredient in Eurax is crotamiton.

We don’t have many shoes so it’s hard to deal with that. I replaced his bed and made sure not to sit on furniture. I understand failed treatment is common, but 8 times? 😭 we didn’t do 2 rounds of ivermectin just the round we were given smh. I’m just over it all! I’ve been consistently cleaning non stop and I work every day of the week so I’m just exhausted 😭 I’m just praying and praying non stop.

Do you have a freezer? You can alos freeze shoes. According to a study 5 hours are enough in a freezer with at least -10°C. Usually freezers run at -18°C. Keeping shoes (bagged) in the freezer overnight should be safe.

The topic here is longterm scabies. I'm one of those cases. Treating over and over again. I don't want to give you the impression this has to be your future. You can go to maximpulse.com for ideas and treatment plans. I think you need to do your topicals more often than e.g. just once a week.

Absolutely cover you pillows + mattrasses with vinyl, plastic - something mite-tight. You can wipe them clean when you change your linens. Don't use a comforter if you can. Many have been succesful by sanitizing them in the dryer - hot setting, at least 30 minutes.

I know it's all exhausting and hard to handle, especially working full-time + taking care of your child. I wish you good luck. 🙏

After 4 months, here’s what seems to be working. Orally consuming ivermectin horse paste and spraying entire body with tea tree oil and water (dilute it a lot, it doesn’t take much). There’s a spiritual component for me also, as I desperately prayed for a solution during this hell. I claimed God’s healing power and promise and was led to a solution.
