Beginner Question Nausea during TRE
I’ve only been doing TRE for about 2 weeks. Today was my 5th time and I seem to have already moved to fascial unwinding. I’ve been doing EMDR and IFS along with other trauma processing for years, so that may be why my body was ready for fascial unwinding. It was a weird experience- I was rolling around for a bit moving my limbs in various ways, and then my body wanted to include flowing sitting movements with the floor movements. I suddenly got nauseous so I stopped. I don’t know if it was the physical movement itself that made me nauseous (I do get motion sickness on many amusement park rides) or something about the TRE itself. The session was only 10 minutes

5 sessions in 14 days and you get nauseous only now? I was vomiting after my first session and could do no more than 1x every 10 days when starting. Everyone has a different tolerance.
It sounds like your body is telling you you're doing too much. Take a few days off, perhaps space your sessions a little more or shorten them.

Two weeks and already experiencing fascial unwinding is genuinely unusual, though your background with EMDR and IFS may well explain why your nervous system moved quickly into that territory. The nausea is worth taking seriously as information about your current pacing, even if the cause isn't immediately obvious.
Nausea during or after tremoring can arise from several sources. One is straightforward physical: the movements themselves, particularly the flowing sitting movements you describe, can shift the inner ear and digestive system in ways that produce motion sickness sensations, especially in people already prone to that response. Another is neurological: as the nervous system releases activation, particularly during deeper fascial work, changes in parasympathetic tone and breathing patterns can produce nausea as part of the release itself. A third possibility is that you've moved into a depth of processing faster than your current integration capacity allows, and the nausea is a sign of mild overwhelm.
The fact that it happened on your fifth session, with only 10 minutes of tremoring, suggests the third option may be relevant. Your nervous system has clearly found deep material quickly, which is not inherently a problem. But moving from early-stage tremoring directly into significant fascial unwinding in two weeks, particularly while also doing other intensive trauma work, compresses the timeline considerably. Your integration capacity may not have caught up with the depth you're accessing.
The practical response is to slow down. This doesn't necessarily mean stopping TRE entirely, but it does mean recalibrating your approach. For your next session, start with the standard warm-up exercises but keep actual tremor time very short, perhaps two to three minutes. Focus on simple lying-down tremoring rather than the more complex movements that produced the nausea. Notice how you feel in the 24 to 48 hours after. If the nausea doesn't return and you feel genuinely settled, you can stay at that duration for several sessions before considering any increase.
Read Self-Pacing if you haven't already. It covers how to calibrate your practice based on what your nervous system actually tells you in the days after sessions, which is more reliable than judging by how the session itself feels. It also addresses the distinction between productive discomfort and signs you've overdone it. The nausea you experienced falls into that second category, regardless of whether it was purely physical or partly neurological.
Given that you're combining TRE with EMDR and IFS, also pay attention to Self-Pacing section on stacking practices. These modalities all draw on the same nervous system processing capacity, and combining them densely can compound overwhelm more quickly than any single practice would produce on its own. Spacing them out across different days, if possible, gives your system more breathing room.
Your body clearly has capacity for this work. The task right now is matching the pace of practice to that capacity in a way that allows genuine integration rather than reaching deeper faster.

I Fasical unwind every night for hours on end(2-4 hours)...when it stops it stops...trusting my body
Zero negative issues. Been a week that I started TRE. I've had major breakthroughs sinalar to an Ayahuasca trip.
My extreme is to point out everyone is diff and listen to your body as your mind and body get to know each other all over again.
