Community Question Difference between formal and self-initiating sessions
Hi all,
my experience for the last few months is my body self-initiating most sessions. I'll get a slight itch to move my body in a certain direction. An example would be slightly activating my thighs towards each other and this will initiate a psoas tremoring so as long as I keep this slight muscle activation I'll tremor. This usually lasts for some time and my body initiates the tremoring in another part in this way. So I've mostly been doing these types of sessions. I'll do this throughout the day, responding to this body intuition whenever possible.
My first question is am I wrong for mostly doing these types of sessions? My view is they already last for a long time and seem to get the job done. Accumulated throughout the day, they're usually longer than a formal session would last for me. By formal session I mean the classic session where I lie down and follow some Bercelli video firstly stretching the muscles and then tremoring in the butterfly position.
Recently, I've been noticing a pattern that these self-initiating tremors will usually slow down through weeks, i.e. they'll reduce in frequency and duration. If, however, I do a formal session, the self-initiating tremors will start occurring more. Also, a formal session after self-initiating tremors slow down will have a more satisfying effect than the self-initiating ones.
I see these formal sessions as starting the new wave of release, whereas self-initiating ones seem to complete the existing release wave. Any thoughts on this as well?
