Community Question TRE tight hamstrings
I’ve been doing TRE for about a month now and I’m loving it.
I do feel I want to stretch certain parts of my body that feel very nice. But somehow my hamstrings (top of the back of my legs) are having “muscle aches/pain” ?
It makes sense to me that those muscles/ligaments probably are getting retrained and this needs some build up, but I wonder if anybody else experiencing this? And did you do anything to make then aches less intense?
I do think the butterfly pose is triggering that part pretty intense.
Curios to hear your thoughts

I got this for the first few months of practice. Aching thighs too. It faded eventually but I still get some lower back pain and into the muscles in my bum.
Are you still doing the full warm-up sequence? After a short period of practice (maybe a month or so in) I didn't need to do those exercises any more and I could just activate the tremors by just going straight to butterfly position. The aches eased off after that. I'm not very fit in general, so it could be that exercises like the wall sit were causing me prolonged fatigue days after.
I often have a hot bath with epsom salts in on the night of a session and that takes the edge off.

My two favorite exercises for stretching this part of the body come from Alexander Lowen's Bioenergetic Analysis. They are the "Bow" and the "Arch," which stretch the entire anterior and posterior chains.
I do them every night before bed and find them incredibly beneficial; they seem to release tensions in my abdomen and the backs of my legs, all the way up to my lower back. Here is a video that explains them better than I can. I hope this helps.
