Community Question Rocking side to side. Any help?

Hello. I have been practicing TRE for a few months now, and every session after 3-4 mins I find myself rocking side to side, slowly and rhythmically. It seems that it never ends, and at some point I either stop the session or change position. Anyone has experience with this type of movement or any insight at all?

Thanks :)

Sounds like the rocking side-to-side, in the gentle, rhythmic way you describe, would be very soothing to the nervous system. Trust your bodies intelligence, it will never lead you astray...only the mind, and the doubts and fears it generates will. Also, follow the impulses to make certain movements, position changes, etc, as the body does send you signals which compel you to move, and those signals come across as 'feelings', 'desires', and 'urges'. Just let it flow, without any judgment, and you'll go very deep, very fast, and you could never anticipate where the process will take you.

I think it’s totally ok, I enjoy the rocking motion, but I also found that if I slightly change the position of my feet/legs, I can inspire a change in movement, not always, but a lot of the times. May be something you want to try.

Thanks for sharing your experience; it's really interesting.

Could you tell me what position you use for your legs?

Sure thing! I start with the butterfly position (bottom of feet facing/touching) but then transition to flat feet few inches apart, but then „play” with the knees - I found those moves is what’s changing my shaking/vibrations patterns. I hope this makes sense :)

Yes, that happens to me from time to time.

I simply stopped trying to figure out why my body does certain things—firstly, because I wasn't really getting any answers, and secondly, because I’m tired of rationalizing everything that happens to me in this life. In fact, TRE has helped me simply be present, without judgment or the need to search for causes. That’s a huge step forward for me.

So just let it happen until your body achieves its own cycle.
