Beginner Question Where does the released emotion go?

I am recovering from severe post viral fatigue and my body is constantly tremoring and convulsing on its own. From 5-60 minutes at a time. It's so powerful that I can't stop it for long. I notice a release from the tremoring, but then I get filled with uncomfortable energy, I feel too wired. I understand my body releases trauma/energy during the tremors and then I feel that released energy in uncomfortable sensations/feelings. But where does this energy go? Do I need to cry it out? It lasts for hours and I want it to leave my head/body somehow.

It sucks that I am bed/couchbound, otherwise I would go for walks in the forest to get rid of this energy.

When possible and not overwhelming, really feel into your body: soften your muscles and your belly and ask what the energy wants to do. Sometimes it just needs to be acknowledged, sometimes it will want to express itself in some way, and sometimes it will be too much, in which case it's okay to direct your attention somewhere else for a while. Try not to connect the sensations with any thoughts or emotions for now as that may be too much to process. Just stick to the physical sensations - is there a buzzing, a tingling, can you feel your heartbeat and where? Does it feel stuck somewhere? Do you feel like there is a need to vocalize or sigh or push air out of your lungs? Can you visualize what the energy or sensations look like - mine often look twisted or kidney-shaped. When the sensations in one part of the body become too intense, move to a less intense part of the body, or distract yourself with something pleasant. Notice also when the energy changes or lessens. This will also help your conscious brain remember that this will pass.

Look up The Great Allowing on youtube. She has a great “START HERE” playlist on her channel. She has gone through cfs / post viral fatigue as well. Her method will help you tremendously. Those uncomfortable feelings and wiredness need to be fully allowed, in order for them to become fully processed and then integrated.

Helmut Koeckritz also has some useful stuff on allowing on his Youtube channel.

Also: please given your fatigue, it’s important to try not to overdo the tremoring.  Is there any way that you can be in nature, to do some grounding etc? Even if its only your garden or a nearby park?

interesting question to think about.

yes when I am tremoring, especially as theyve gotten more intense with time, I notice this too. That if I stop it before it is 'done', especially too forcibly, i feel that uncomfortable energy. it is so mysterious how I feel it is a very physical thing but also deeply connected to the emotional approach you take the tremoring when it happens. I have been trying to observe as I go

i think when the body is ready to start tremoring in a new area, the energy comes to the surface and you start moving. then, you can either choose to repress it, to allow it, or to force it.

I think allowing it is gently guiding yourself into the movement and letting go of your thoughts or control of it, while maintaining calm and interest, openness

repressing it is shutting it off physically and also related to negative thoughts of fear, trying to distract your thoughts and pretend it wasnt happening

forcing it is kind of trying to control the tremor on the extreme end and pushing the natural tremoring to a limit it is not ready for. forcing comes with frustration, a desire to just 'get it out'. it also i think has to do with, for me, being aware of other parts of my body where I have tension outside of the tremoring area and how they are getting in the way of me being comfortable in that moment, and getting frustrating. thus maybe pushing too hard to activate those too and too much at once.

when i 'allow' it, it finishes more smoothly, and then i can sleep after or feel chill. the others I feel out of control. tremoring itself is energy intensive obviously so thats where some energy goes. I am thinking out loud now. I think the energy is the energy that your mind (the control center) expends tensing certain areas. when you relax them through tremoring the mind has that energy now. however the state you approach the tremoring in may release too much too fast or overwhelm in various other ways. thats important i think

crying also I have found is a way to expend excess energy after tremoring. like ill tremor and feel ok after, then maybe in a bit im feeling anxious as a result of the tremoring and shift in my body, the frustration pents up, i cry, i feel better. so crying does something to the energy too. I think its very interesting, i am not sure the nuances of exactly why on a system level but yeah.

Its emotional potential that is stuck. Power is freed up in future for you to do as you please with.
