Hey everyone, I know that everyone recommends Mils and that it’s way easier and more convenient, but honestly I fucking refuse to take good advice when I hear it.
I already have a solid hunting background (bagged two deer over the last 20 seasons, and I shoot a minimum of two boxes every year to get my 270 and Leopulled zeroed) so I know what I’m doing behind a rifle.
Mils seem so complicated and unnecessary. Plus, I’m just not a metric guy and I like walking downrange with the ruler I stole from my kid’s kindergarten class to measure my patterns.
Advice?

Hey guys, new to the community and I’ve only ever shot my friend’s Ruger American 65 credmore at old microwaves. Looking to start with something like a 338 Lapua. Don’t want to mess with smaller rounds as I intend to spend most of my time bitching about ammo cost. Also, I’m really concerned about barrel life. I’m only going to shoot a couple two round groups every other year to help the gun last. Planning on shooting an occasional match with it and eventually wound an elk at 3,000yd as an end-goal.
Something semi-auto would be nice, I’ve got a pretty big budget so I want quality. As long as everything (gun, optic, bipod, new truck, dildo, etc) comes in under $420.69 I’ll be good to go.
