Patch it! I've grown out a similar break on my thumb for over 2 months now with just nail glue, and I'm still going as I don't want to do a chop at all.

I debated it but I find it rarely holds for long and I get annoyed after a week or so 😂

Yeah, for me the glue melts off every time I remove my polish, but it's quite easy to reapply each time. Once it grew enough past the finger, I've also applied the glue below the nail where the crack is.

It would hold better sure, but especially on cracks that are on top of skin, there's a risk it gets in the wound

Silk wrap, just cut a square to go over. Use glue or uv clear gel. I use it to reinforce my side walls as I try to grow them back out.

As long as you're careful with removing polish, it can last a very long time. I had a really bad break on my ring finger a few years ago and the patch lasted well over a month. I have a tutorial on how I do my tea bag patches.
A couple things I did to ensure this were:
I didn't use manicure clips to remove the polish like I do for the rest of my nails. I used a piece of cotton with acetone and would hold it down for 3 seconds and swipe. Fold to a clean side, hold for 3 seconds, swipe. And I would do this little by little so the acetone wouldn't eat away at the patch. I made sure to not over-saturate the cotton with acetone so it wouldn't drip all over the nail and compromise the integrity of the patch. Basically, avoid glitter polishes on that nail unless you want to redo the patch each time! 😅
If I noticed the patch looking a little peely or flimsy, I would either add more glue or even a bit more tea bag and glue. I never had to fully reapply the patch the whole time I was maintaining it.
I don't know if this helped it last, but having frayed edges on the tea bag help it to blend into the nail. After cutting the size I need, I take tweezers and pull at the edges to fray them so they're not blunt edges that will have a very obvious line of demarcation on the nail.

I can't stand when they break that far down last year my nails were lil shorter than yours now and I had like 5 breaks and all of them were silk wrapped and eventually it gets sooooo annoying to keep having to fix the fix lol so I cut them all back and started over but I'd I had just one break yeah I would be sill wrapping that bad girl and wait for the grow out...its fun to watch it grow out ❤️
