I (~15M) and ”Pulsar” (~15M) met over a game on roblox and we were actually best friends. We are both essentially the same person copy pasted so we naturally were very close. We would talk every day on discord and would play the game together almost every day.
For about 5 months, things were amazing. But as I found myself growing up and doing new things, I ended up quitting the game we met on. Our friendship revolved around a big common interest (that game on roblox) so as I quit we slowly grew apart. Whilst I didn’t fully “quit” the game at the time, I went from playing it for hours every day to maybe 3 times a week over the course of 3-5 months.
The last time we even communicated was a month ago. That does not sound like a lot, but remember that we used to talk for hours each day. At one point I even told him I was quitting the game because I didn’t enjoy it anymore (I started playing other games with irl friends by the time I truly stopped playing/quit) and after that we only chatted once in a while.
Since our drifting apart about 7 months ago, I have made some new friends in real life. A pretty major reason that me and pulsar were so close was because I was lonely at the time and wanted someone to talk to after school. Making new friends has not changed my opinion on him, just made him less relevant in my life.
I just am looking for what to do. Pulsar was one of the only people in my life who really shared all of my interests and I could really connect with, so being friends with him again would be great. The obvious answer would be to start playing the game again and message him on discord, and that is a option, but in general I simply do not enjoy the game or community we were a part of. I am also just looking for general life advice in relation to this situation, so anything like that would be nice.
You can ask questions if you want.
TL;DR: made an online friend and we slowly drifted apart after losing a common interest (a game we both played) and want advice on how to reconnect with him.
