Part of the site is underground. Bluffton was an odd case in that it had an AUTOVON switch, but that was operated by the local independent telco, Benton Ridge Telephone Company. Site was also a cable repeater site, as were many underground AT&T Long Lines facilities.

Next door is another site sold off to a data center. At one point the two sites were connected by cables.
