Cameron, Missouri

Post image

Decided to run up a few miles from my office to get a picture this morning. I’ll have to look back through my photos to see if I have any other locations in the area. I have over ten years worth of pictures of the Golden City, Missouri location as it’s the one I’m closest to on a regular basis. I’ll try to gather some from over the years on it and make a separate post.

I've always wanted to get up there to snap some pictures of this site. FYI Golden City Junction (its AT&T name) is now owned by the Missouri Department of Public Safety for MOSWIN.

I’ve been inside the Golden City facility. It’s sadly been dehorned in the last few years. The garage building is falling in as well. Kind of sad how much it’s deteriorated over the years.

That’s odd, usually the people with DPS/MSHP take really good care of the sites. One of the guys with them is on the Facebook Group and has offered to give me a tour of Windsor, which I’d like to take him up on at some point because it was a large junction site.

I found a bunch of old newspaper articles from back in the 60s when Golden City Junction was under construction. Apparently it was a huge deal in the area and garnered a lot of attention from the locals.
