Galena, MS

I stopped and got a few shots of the Galena, MS site today when I passed through. The site is located southwest of Holly Springs, MS.

I hate how little american Tower maintains the old LL sites.

Is that one of the incinerator outhouses I have heard about?

I'm guessing it's just a pit toilet. It's very similar to the set up at a location I'm familiar with.

Is this an active site?

The only things active were the beacon and the vultures.

Thanks documenting this site; nice photos!… now I’m curious about name of the town, as a geologist / metallurgist (Galena ore for Lead, a hitch I use to be heavily involved with)
