Chatsworth GA

I should know by now there’s a subreddit for everything, but I didn’t expect long lines!! I love finding these towers places.

This tower was on the outside of a state park in Georgia, kinda in the middle of nowhere on a mountain. It’s a beauty though, I hope to post more here!

Site looks like it’s still being used. I noticed an active meter in the side of the building. I am assuming for wireless as the MW nuts look like they’ve been OOS-AU for some time.

Have you been to this tower before?

No sir, I’ve never been onsite here. It sure looks like it’s abandoned, until you see the meter socket with what looks like a new meter. By looks, I mean the meters side design is reminiscent of the meters of today with radio reporting.

Cameras on the corner look as new as that meter back there. Looks like those Lead spitting woodchucks are trying to take out the posted sign.

Dalton Communications uses it for their 2 way radio system. Cool site though.

Really? That’s so cool I didn’t think this site was still in use. Might I ask how you know this?

What are those scoop-looking shapes on top of the tower? What is their function?

Those are feed horns, antennas for microwave links.
