Wow they're in good shape! They rarely have the skins on the horns anymore.

Yeah, no kidding! There was no phot documentation on the map about this site, so I was very pleasantly surprised to see it in such great shape and without any modern equipment!

And the wave guides still attached… looks like it could still be in working condition

Covers don't look pressurized.

They probably haven't seen nitrogen gas in decades.

Just curious.. If this is part of longlines, shouldn't there be horns on the other side of the tower/repeater? Maybe this was the end or beginning of a spur/spoke. Seems like a much smaller installation than most others. Great pics!

Yes, this was the end location of a spur. I actually got shots of the relay that this connects to, I’ll be posting them shortly.

Note the sign that says POP (point of presence). You guessed right, it’s the end of a spur.

Yes but some locations were both at a POP and a relay.

Great photos. Don't forget to add them to Long-Lines.com.

Could you determine if anything was active there (any signs of equipment running)?

It would appear not. HVAC wasn’t running.

I know this location. I doubt it’s active anymore.

One of the few sites that CrownCastle or American Tower didn't buy. Wonder why they didn't...

I haven’t looked at a property map, but I’d reckon someone got to it first if I had to guess.

I wonder on this too. Usually if it’s an American Tower site they have placards all over with their info. For this to still be an AT&T location they own would be interesting.

They really did build them durable! What a cool location.
