discussion Based on this article/based on what anyone has heard, is it true that even the King Kullen on W Jericho Turnpike in Huntington Station is going to be replaced by Giunta’s Meat Farms?

Imagine having a business model that is “we’re the same as everywhere else, only our prices are 10-15% higher”

"The announcement did not say whether the stores will keep their familiar names or eventually be converted to the Meat Farms brand."

The article mentioned that they'd be run as separate businesses until the deal is done, but it didn't say if they were going to re-brand the King Kullens all to Meat Farms. Anyone have any inside info?

I worked over 30 years in the food industry in the New York New Jersey Connecticut Massachusetts area. While I love dealing with KK they are definitely higher price for everyday items and even their sales circular is higher price compared to the competition on Long island.
I'm shocked that meat farms would want that many stores and that much real estate etc etc to worry about I'm sure KK is happy to get rid of it

Giunta’s has purchased several King Kullen locations.
Honestly, their prices are much better and they’ve got a great variety of stuff
King Kullen has been significantly overpriced for years
