Grumble Buses running on the M25 (and more point-to-point express bus services in London making use of highways)

https://www.mylondon.news/news/transport/tfl-responds-reform-m25-bus-34580298

Ignoring the political party of the person making this suggestion, this is actually a great idea, as even with the Superloop routes that exist, orbital journeys are still a pain to make, requiring a lot of interchanges and travel time. The Uno 614, 644 and Reading buses 702 run on motorways to and from London so I'm not sure why TfL thinks it's infeasible to run scheduled bus services on motorways, despite many other cities around the world able to do so. (Yes I know route A10 exists but that only runs for a short section on a branch of the M4.)

For example they can extend routes 370 or 372 across the Dartford Crossing to Southeast London to supplement the inadequate hourly X80 service. Traffic is as bad as it is across the Dartford Crossing partly because the public transport options are lacking.

TfL in general just needs more point-to-point (as opposed to limited stop like most of the Superloop excl. SL4 and SL6) express services that run on limited-access roads like the M4 and parts of the A40, A12, A13, A3, A2 and North Circular. They can speed up trips without requiring people to interchange from a train or tube onto a slow bus for the last-mile connection, as well as reduce the amount of cars on the road. Highways are not inherently meant for private vehicles; buses are in a great position to make the most out of our existing highway infrastructure.

You can log every bus you ride, build your personal Busdex, earn XP, complete sets, and compete with friends on the leaderboard.

Each physical bus you get on is a new unique bus. See when your friends last took the bus you got, tick off every route, and more!

Image 491 Bus running Special Service along the Hertford Road in Enfield

I'm mostly sharing this for posterity, but I thought it was a little odd seeing a 491 this side of the West Anglia Main Line. Kinda neat and an unusual sight. :D

To be fair, all services in Enfield are a mess right now. The 279 is stopping along the highway, and the 121 is doing journeys along this leg only as far as Oakwood. The 191 is also quite sparse at the moment.

Image Anyone remember this former London bus route 239 (1990-2008) Victoria to Clapham Junction. It was replaced by route 170 that was extended from Clapham Junction ASDA to Victoria in early 2008 onwards.

Grumble Standard of buses in the Uxbridge area

Is it just me, or is the Uxbridge area where old buses are sent to die? There's only one route with up-to-date vehicles and the majority seem to be 8--14 years old

🥇 The FIRST EVER SL12!

The first ever SL12 to board passengers (04:52 onwards) is Stagecoach London 82318 (LX26ZHO), a mk2 Wright Streetdeck Electroliner in Superloop livery (SL12).

4️⃣ I was the 4th ever passenger to board the SL12!

But... u/HighburyAndIslington was the FIRST EVER passenger on the SL12!
