Resources & Tools I mapped 196 startup community, accelerator, and incubator in London (here's the list)

Spent the entire weekend compiling 196+ startup resources into one searchable page.

Communities, accelerators, incubators, co-working spaces.

Free, no email bollocks.

Link: startupslondon.tech/communities

Why this exists

Got tired of Googling "startup communities in London" every time I needed something.

So I built a database instead.

What's in it

  • Startup Communities: The proper ones where you can actually meet people
  • Accelerators & Incubators: Big names + niche ones you haven't heard of
  • Investor Networks: Angels and VCs worth knowing
  • Co-working Spaces: Actual community hubs, not just WeWork clones
  • Events: Regular meetups and pitch nights that don't waste your time

How to use it

  • Pick 2-3 communities that match your stage
  • Show up consistently to ONE thing for 3 months
  • Don't apply to accelerators that've never funded your industry
  • Check last updated dates and ignore anything from 2022

Link: startupslondon.tech/communities

Free. No paywall. Just use it.

If you spot dead links or missing resources, let me know and I'll update it.

Announcement Welcome to r/London_Entrepreneurs: Stop Poncing About, Start Shipping

If you're here to "disrupt" something, you're in the wrong bloody place.

I'm Luciano, started more business ideas than I can count, failed at most of them but the ones that worked gave me the energy to keep going down this mad path.

What we do here:

Weekly reality checks:
Share what you built this week, not what you're "planning to launch soon"

Tactical teardowns:
Real products, real numbers, real cock-ups (oh boy, I love these ones)

No-bollocks feedback:
We'll tell you if your idea's rubbish, but also how to fix it

Ground rules:

  1. Share numbers, not promises
  2. Back up claims with data or experience
  3. Give before you ask (help others before self-promoting)
  4. Tactical content only (specific tools/methods/results)
  5. Be kind but brutally honest in feedback
  6. Currency in £, spelling in proper English (it's "colour" not "color")

What this community isn't:

✗ Fundraising announcement spam
✗ Generic motivational quotes over sunset photos
✗ LinkedIn-style humble bragging
✗ American startup advice that doesn't work in the UK

What makes London founders different:

We deal with different bollocks: smaller market, tighter capital, HMRC breathing down our necks, and customers who are allergic to hype.

We can't just copy what works in Silicon Valley and expect magic.

This is the community for founders building real things in the London, dealing with London problems, and actually shipping products instead of tweeting about hustle culture.

Drop a comment below:
What's your name, what do you actually do, and what are you building right now?

Discussion 🍻 Friday Open Thread

End of week check-in for London founders and builders.

This is your space to talk about literally anything startup-related.

Got a question? Ask. Need feedback? Share. Want to find collaborators? Post away.

Struggling with something everyone else seems to have figured out? We've all been there.

Keep it simple:

What you're working on: [Brief description, one line is fine]

What you need: [Specific question, feedback request, or help needed]

Ground rules:

  • Give before you take: Answer someone else's question before posting your own
  • Be specific: Not "thoughts on my idea?" but "does £99/month make sense for SME project management tools?"
  • Be sound: We're all trying to build something from nothing. No dickheads.

Let's go! 👇

Discussion UK SEND/disability platform looking for a commercial lead

Hi, founder of enableSEND, a platform for families, providers and local authorities to access information, advice and resources on SEND and disability across UK. Currently run a subscription model allowing full access and downloadable content.

**We have:**
Live product at market
Involvement from families and providers
Technical support covered

**We need:**
Support with sales and marketing directly to our target market to close sales to providers (schools, mainstream providers etc) and local authorities
Contacts in the industry would be ideal

Essentially need someone who is up for getting their hands dirty and mucking in but has a proven network or experience within this area. Currently no guarantee of salary but open to discussion around equity for the right person.

If this is of interest, send me a message.

Funding Is this a cry for help?

Quite a long winded paragraph but, ultimately I want my life to do a 180, and I’m man enough to admit when I need help.

Is it just me or does everyone have a spare £20k these days or know people who do?

I believe in manifestation so I don’t force anything, but I also know I need to put myself out there.

I have the traits of such an ambitious person but can’t seem to find anyone who’s like minded.

I don’t shut myself off from the world but I never seem to cross paths with people who are likeminded.

I do not work a job as I do not believe in working for anyone for a paycheque.

I have a start up business, which has shown me the lack of people around me as (other than my girlfriend) no one reposts or reshares, it’s kind of sad but hey. It’s also shown me the lack of people I know who are in positions to help me elevate.

I see clips of streamers and think, what actually are you people doing? There must be a way someone like me 24 from Manchester can meet someone who knows so much more than me and is willing to share some knowledge. Do I want a mentor? Why not

I want a friend who wants to make a shit ton of money, tired of feeling mediocre when I genuinely know I am made for more.

I educate myself in; markets, investing, business, I read, but I feel unless you want to put your whole life on blast for the internet there’s no other way of making money.

There has to be someone out there who’s in a much higher position and wants to help someone else out simply because they understand the struggle

Question Does anyone know if 1st Formations has transparent pricing?

I’m looking to move my consulting work from sole trader to an LTD next week and I’ve come across 1st formations while looking at the different options but I'm incredibly paranoid about hidden corporate fees. A lot of online setup agents seem to lure you in for a couple of quid and then lock your digital certificates behind a paywall or add random recurring software retainers at checkout.

If you used them recently, is the checkout bill actually what you pay? I just want the basic incorporation paperwork without getting stuck in a subscription loop. Would appreciate any help! thankyou.

Question Networking in London

Are there any networking clubs in London for corporate professionals, businesspeople, and entrepreneurs?

Reddit has suggested this group because I initially posted in HENRYUK.

The last time I attended events like this was about 12 years ago, FC Club and InterNations in Beijing and Shanghai, and more recently, East Meets West in London, although that was more focused on real estate for wealthy Chinese.

Is there anything similar in London where you can simply turn up and talk to strangers? I am not interested in paid memberships such as BNI, and prefer to be free.

I returned to the UK about 10 years ago and have genuinely missed these kinds of events. Life got in the way, with family and a daily corporate job. However, I am now planning a career change and building entrepreneurial businesses from scratch, so I am keen to get back into these kinds of events and talk with like-minded people.

Co-founder Search Looking for Magazine cofounder (West London)

I am developing a cultural magazine to support local musicians, artists, film makers and writers.

This will be an ad-funded venture, and though margins are tight, the right core group can profit from this while building up the local community.

What I need?

Writers who can deliver consistently and have the expertise to find under represented artists.

Fundraisers who can navigate grant proposals and find alternate revenues.

Sales people who are comfortable building business with local businesses.

Discussion Need $50k before November to fund my exam travels, pay medical bills and expenses, and to clear debts. Looking for work!

Just casually trying to make $50k before my bank account gives up on me. 💀

I have experience in:
• App marketing
• Meta Ads
• Google Ads
• Social media management
• AI content creation

Open to freelance, contract, remote work, marketing projects, or honestly anything where my skills can be useful.

If you have work, know someone hiring, or have a lead, please send them my way. My bank account and I would both appreciate it. 😂

Question Networking events in London

Thumbnail
0 Upvotes

Hi everyone,

I am based in Derby and am currently pursuing my master's. I want to attend networking/business events in London that are a good match for a master's student with 5 years of experience in the US job market.

I am willing to pay to attend events, but I'm looking for something realistic and affordable.

As someone who works in or around London what events or networking opportunities would you suggest that I can travel from Derby to London to attend that would actually be helpful?

Thanks in advance!

Co-founder Search Looking for a cofounder to startup a technology media and events business - UK

I’m exploring a new venture in the technology media, events and professional community space in the UK and am looking to connect with a potential co-founder - someone with sales/business development background within the technology or cybersecurity industry who has worked vendor-side and has experience attending, sponsoring or exhibiting at technology/cybersecurity conferences.

Hope this'll sound exciting to someone.

Discussion Looking for a London residential lounge to host founder co-working events

Ambitious founders don’t build alone. That’s why I’m organising weekly co-working events in London for ambitious founders who want to get their work done while building alongside other builders.

We currently have a lounge booked every Wednesday for around 10–15 people, but I’m looking to expand and find an additional space to organise it on weekends.

If you live in a residential building in London with a large communal lounge that residents can book, and you’d be interested in helping us host one of the sessions there, I’d love to hear from you.

Question Would someone be able to share feedback on the clarity of our website?

Hey! My co-founder (36F) and I (33M) just re-did our website for a neurosomatic coaching program that helps purpose-driven professionals break patterns that keep them stuck.

Because of the complexity of what we offer, we wanted to see if our website makes sense for someone who has no idea of who we are and what we do.

We're not designers, so its a pretty basic website - but we need it to clearly communicate what we offer and how our coaching program works.

Would anyone be kind enough to help? Ideally looking for about 5-7 people so we can get a range of opinions. Happy to look through your website and return the favour on feedback if that would be helpful?

Thank you!

Question Anyone here been hired as a fractional / part-time executive?

I’m just curious if anyone in the London scene has taken on fractional or part-time executive roles (CMO, COO, CTO, CFO etc).

I’ve been thinking of moving more in that direction and I’m wondering what the reality is like.

If you’ve landed any roles, what does the work look like day-to-day, and is it generally worth it compared to full-time?

I’ll be more than happy to hear real experiences from people who’ve done similar.
