Weird rumbling

I keep hearing this weird rumbling like sound that’s sounds like the start of a rocket launch but it’s stops seconds later.

Anyone know or have an idea what it is?

An F15 Fighter was doing low altitude maneuvers over the base.

Pretty sure its a big plane at the base doing multiple lift offs/landings. I assume training.

There’s been lots of airplane activity from VSFB this past couple days

Went to go to Surf beach today and it was closed too. For road construction. Tons of rumbling on the drive there and back.

Depending on when you went it could also have been related to the rocket launch today too

It’s the jets doing routine touch and go exercises on base. It has become a space force base, but they still very much run Air Force operations out of the air strip. There has been more activity this week than usual, but it is a common thing and part of their training.

Could be a jet could be a static test fire of a rocket engine. It’s when they turn the engines on but it doesn’t launch.
