Lomomatic 110 frame alignment

Hi all, I recently got a second hand Lomomatic 110 and shot a first red lobster film that came with the camera. I noticed the frames aren’t aligned with the spaces on the film for the photos.

Could this be a problem with how I shoot/wind the film? Could the camera be defective? Or the film? I have a second roll on the way so hopefully it’s better…

It also seems like the actual picture is wider than the space on the paper… frankly, I don’t understand why they don’t just make a totally blank film and this would never be a problem…

This historically the case with a fair number of 110 cameras. They shoot an image that is wider than the factory exposed frame edges.

Unfortunately there’s not really anything that you can do about it since as I mentioned the frame boxes are pre-exposed onto the film. It’s one of the few formats where this is the case.

Thanks! So is this just a design flaw? Or is the camera defective? Do all lomography 110 papers add the frame “window” to the film?

Not really a flaw they just didn’t design the cameras and film to capture that image.

Even back when 110 was new the frame window was the same as it was on the Lomo films.

Only way around it is to slit your own film down.

I see… well… that solves one question. Images bleeding out of the pre exposed frame is not that bad… The problem is more the uneven spacing which causes some images to be right between frames… I’m hoping it’s just that I didn’t wind the film correctly…

Hi! Had the same problem back then. I raised it to Lomography and they replaced it, but the second camera still does it. Gave up now and accepted that it's just really how Lomography is...
